Cancellation & no-show policy
Last updated 20 July 2026.
What happens when plans change — for customers and for businesses. This policy forms part of our Terms of service.
Cancelling as a customer
- You can cancel any upcoming booking from your account, free of charge, up to the time the business's own cancellation window (if any) closes.
- Cancel as early as you can — a booked slot is income the business has reserved for you.
- Cancelling a quote request is always free while it is still open: just cancel it from your account before the business replies, or decline the quote after.
No-show fees
- Some businesses set a no-show fee for missed appointments. If a business has one, the exact amount is shown on the booking page before you confirm — you will never be surprised by a fee that wasn't disclosed upfront.
- The fee is charged by the business directly (MorisBook does not take payments today). The business can waive it — for example for regular customers — at its discretion.
- Repeatedly booking and not showing up may lead to your MorisBook account being suspended.
When a business cancels on you
- Businesses can cancel a booking — things happen. You'll be notified by email (and push notification if enabled) immediately, and the slot price is no longer owed.
- Businesses that repeatedly cancel confirmed bookings harm the marketplace and may be suspended from the platform.
Refunds
- Payments today happen directly between you and the business at the venue, so any refund is between you and the business. Mauritian consumer-protection law applies to that transaction.
- If online payments are introduced on the platform, this policy will be updated with refund timelines before the feature launches.
- If you believe a business has treated you unfairly, contact us at hello@morisbook.mu — repeated complaints affect a business's standing on the platform.
