Terms of service
Last updated 20 July 2026.
The short version: be genuine, honour your bookings, and remember the work itself is between customer and business. MorisBook is operated by SkyCloud Software. The detail follows.
Who we are
- MorisBook is operated by SkyCloud Software [Ltd], a company incorporated in the Republic of Mauritius [company/BRN number — to be completed] with its registered office at [registered office address — to be completed] ("SkyCloud", "we", "us").
- MorisBook is a product and trading name of SkyCloud Software. References to MorisBook in these terms mean SkyCloud Software trading as MorisBook.
- By creating an account, making a booking or listing a business you agree to these terms. Under the Electronic Transactions Act 2000, contracts formed electronically on this platform are valid and enforceable.
What MorisBook is
- MorisBook is a marketplace. Businesses list their services; customers book appointments or request quotes. The service itself — the haircut, the detailing, the plumbing job — is a contract between you and the business, not with SkyCloud.
- We work to list only genuine businesses (every listing is reviewed before going live), but we are not a party to, and are not responsible for, the quality, safety or completion of the work itself.
Bookings and quotes
- A booking reserves a time slot with the business at the price shown when you booked. Prices are set by each business and are displayed in Mauritian rupees inclusive of any applicable taxes, as required by Mauritian consumer-protection law.
- A quote request is an invitation — the business replies with a price which you are free to accept or decline. Accepting a quote is an agreement between you and that business.
- Payment happens directly with the business (cash or card at the venue) unless the business offers online payment through the platform.
Cancellations and no-shows
- You can cancel a booking from your account. Please cancel early — slots are a business's income. Our full Cancellation & No-Show Policy forms part of these terms.
- Some businesses set a no-show fee, shown before you confirm the booking. If you repeatedly book and don't show up, your account may be suspended.
Reviews
- Only customers with a completed booking or completed quote job can review a business. Keep reviews honest and about the service. We remove reviews that are abusive, fake or unrelated, and repeat abuse loses review access.
For businesses
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing, your prices, your availability, and for honouring bookings and accepted quotes.
- You must hold whatever licences or permits your trade requires in Mauritius, including any registration required by the Business Registration Act.
- Subscription fees are billed monthly in Mauritian rupees. You can cancel anytime; your listing simply comes off the marketplace.
- Customer contact details are shared for fulfilling that customer's booking or quote only — using them for unsolicited marketing breaches these terms and the Data Protection Act 2017.
Accounts and fair use
- You must be 18 or older to create an account, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
- Keep your password safe; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- No scraping, spamming, fake bookings, fake listings, or attempts to breach other users' data or the platform's security (offences under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act 2003). We suspend accounts that abuse the platform.
Intellectual property
- The MorisBook name, logo, design and software belong to SkyCloud Software. Businesses keep ownership of the photos and content they upload and grant us a licence to display them on the platform.
- Don't copy, resell or reverse-engineer the platform.
Liability and law
- The platform is provided as-is. To the extent Mauritian law allows, SkyCloud's liability for anything arising from use of the platform is limited to the fees you paid us in the preceding three months. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Mauritian law.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Mauritius, and disputes belong to the courts of Mauritius.
- We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the platform before they take effect.
